Tauri was found in Pinal County with her sister (Ember) and 8 (3-week-old) pups between them (both moms were nursing). Although she's quite timid, she's not fearful and can be picked up. After just over a month in foster, she's warmed up a bit knows her name and will come if called, although she's sometimes still reluctant to be touched. She does like having her ears scritched!
She does not panic on a leash, except when asked to walk through doors; however, she doesn't have leash training to actually go on walks, she's only been leashed enough to walk around the front yard and do her business.
She's perfectly adept at using a doggie door, and has never messed in the house (except when initially confined to a room with her pups).
When she was picked up, she was very skinny and had a difficult time feeding her pups, so her pups were fed goat milk and within two weeks were augmenting their diet with dry food. Tauri has recovered a lot, and was eventually able to feed well, but she's still quite skinny with ribs and vertebrae visible. She's somewhat reluctant to feed in the presence of other dogs (especially her puppies), so this has been somewhat of a challenge to correct.
